Swabi: The “World Pharmacists Day 2024” was celebrated in the committee room of BKMC-MTI, Swabi. The BKMC Pharmacy Department organized the program, which was attended by pharmacists, interns, and other staff. This year’s theme for “World Pharmacists Day is “Pharmacists Meeting Global Health Needs,” emphasizing the vital role pharmacists play as the most accessible primary healthcare professionals in supporting health and well-being.

The Manager Pharmacy highlighted the role of pharmacists and provided details about the department’s activities, including the Fair Price Pharmacy established last year to offer quality medicines at affordable prices

Hospital Director Dr. Khalid Masud, Medical Director Dr. Shahid Nisar Khalid, Chairman Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee Dr. Amjad Mahboob, Secretary BOG, and focal person SSP also graced the occasion. The MD and Chairman Pharmacy and Therapeutic Committee discussed their contributions in optimizing pharmacy services for patient care and the appropriate use of medications.

The Hospital Director appreciated the efforts of the Pharmacy Department and encouraged them to further streamline and enhance their operations for the benefit of patients.

It is worth mentioning that World Pharmacists Day is celebrated every year on September 25, recognizing the critical role pharmacists play in improving global health. The day aims to acknowledge and appreciate the contribution of pharmacists in building a healthier society.

The management concluded the event with a ceremonial cake cutting to commemorate World Pharmacists Day, honoring the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare.
