Bacha Khan Medical Complex Swabi, Fluoroscopy unit at Radiology department, Fluoroscopy is a form of X-ray that enables to see internal organs and structures. It demonstrates real-time imaging that shows movement.
Fluoroscopy uses a continuous X-ray beam that is passed over the area of interest. During all procedures, a very low dose of ionizing radiation is used, which is modified according to patient’s habitus. A contrast material (dye) is introduced into the body through injection, swallowing or an enema. This dye allows the picture to be viewed clearly on a television monitor or screen.
