The Neurosurgery Department of Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC), MTI Swabi provides specialized care for patients with diseases and injuries affecting the brain, spinal cord, spinal column, and peripheral nerves.

The department provides care for both adult and pediatric patients, offering comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment, critical care, and rehabilitation in coordination with other relevant specialties.

Our neurosurgical team manages both emergency and planned cases, with treatment tailored to the patient’s condition and clinical needs.

Neurosurgical Services

• Brain Surgery – Surgical management of selected brain tumors, trauma, bleeding, and other neurological conditions.

• Complex Spinal Surgery – Management of complex disorders and injuries of the spine and spinal cord.

• Neurotrauma Services – Emergency assessment and management of head injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal trauma.

• Vascular Neurosurgery – Assessment and surgical management of selected vascular conditions affecting the brain and nervous system.

• Congenital & Pediatric Neurosurgery – Management of selected congenital and developmental neurological conditions in children.

• Pain Management Services – Assessment and management of selected neurological and spinal conditions associated with chronic or severe pain.

Emergency & Specialized Care

The department provides specialized neurosurgical support for head injuries, spinal trauma, neurological emergencies, and other conditions requiring urgent assessment and intervention.

Neurosurgery works closely with Emergency Medicine, Radiology, Anaesthesia, Critical Care, Orthopedics, Neurology, Rehabilitation, and other clinical departments to provide coordinated care for complex patients.
