Gynaecology & Obstetrics Department

The Gynaecology & Obstetrics (Gynae-Obs) Department of Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC), MTI Swabi provides comprehensive, women-centered healthcare through qualified and experienced faculty, doctors, nurses, and supporting staff.

The department provides care throughout pregnancy, childbirth, the postpartum period, and across a wide range of gynaecological conditions. The team is equipped to manage routine cases as well as high-risk pregnancies and obstetric and gynaecological emergencies.

  • Other diseases of the female reproductive system

  • Laparoscopy

  • Saline Infusion Sonography (SIS)

Emergency & Specialized Care

The department provides emergency assessment and management for obstetric and gynaecological emergencies, with coordination among relevant specialties and supporting services.

Specialized care is also provided for patients with HIV and Hepatitis B/C, with appropriate infection-prevention and isolation measures as required.

Diagnostic Support

The department utilizes available diagnostic facilities, including ultrasound and specialized gynecological imaging, to support timely assessment and management. Ultrasound services are supported by the Radiology Department and are available for obstetric and emergency requirements.

  • Dedicated isolation facilities for patients requiring additional infection-control precautions

The department works closely with Emergency, Radiology, Laboratory, Anaesthesia, Neonatal, Surgery, and other clinical services to provide coordinated care, particularly for high-risk pregnancies and emergency cases.
