Swabi: World Patient Safety Day 2024 was observed at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Islamabad. This year’s theme focused on “Improving Diagnosis for Patient Safety,” with the slogan “Get it right, make it safe!” Despite significant advancements in medicine and healthcare delivery, patient safety remains a pressing global issue.
An awareness walk was conducted, in which the WHO Representative (WR) and Director General, Dr. Shabana Saleem, participated, along with the Hospital Director of BKMC-MTI Swabi, Dr. Khalid Masud, and Chairman Department of Medicine, Dr. Amjad Mahboob. Both took the opportunity to participate in this significant event.
The Hospital Director, Dr. Khalid Masud, and Chairman Medicine Department, Dr. Amjad Mahboob, were awarded shield as tokens of appreciation.
WHO and BKMC are already in close liaison to improve the healthcare system at BKMC. As part of this collaboration, the WHO team recently visited various departments of BKMC-MTI, Swabi. The management of BKMC is concerned about patient safety and is striving to provide better healthcare facilities to patients.
