Swabi: To strengthen neonatal care at Bacha Khan Medical Complex-MTI, Swabi, a two-day course on Neonatal Mechanical Ventilation commenced today at the BKMC Auditorium Hall. The course is organized as a joint venture between the University of Child Health Sciences, The Children’s Hospital Lahore, and Department of Paediatrics, GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi.
The course covers Non-invasive Ventilation and Invasive Ventilation. Prof. Dr. Sajjad-Ur-Rehman, HoD Paediatrics, Assistant Prof. Dr. Inayat Ullah (Neonatologist, BKMC), and Assistant Prof. Dr. Haji Gul Afridi (Paediatrics) are facilitating the course.
The master trainers for the course are Prof. Khwaja A. Irfan Waheed, Dr. Mazhar Qadir Khan, Dr. Muhammad Ahmed Rana, Dr. Ibrahim Bin Afsar Jan, and Dr. Samina Shams Alam.
Faculty, HOs, nurses, paramedics, from BKMC, HMC, KTH MMC, NMC and ATH are actively participating.
The course includes topics such as an introduction to Non-Invasive Ventilation, Nasal High Flow Therapy, nCPAP, nBiPAP, nIPPV, nursing care, and a panel discussion.
