Swabi: A 3-day workshop on small and sick newborns successfully concluded at the Auditorium Hall of BKMC-MTI, Swabi. The Department of Paediatrics and Neonatology, GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi organized the workshop which was held from August 26 to 28, 2024

Doctors, nurses, and supporting staff from BKMC DHQ Swabi and allied hospitals actively participated in this hands-on workshop. The pediatric department faculty, led by Prof. Dr. Sijad Ur Rehman, expertly facilitated the sessions.

The workshop covered key topics, including Newborn Life Support (NeoLiS) on Day 1, Early Newborn Care (ENC) on Day 2, and Ventilation in Newborns on Day 3. Each day featured didactic lectures followed by practical hands-on sessions. Pre-tests, post-tests, and OSCE sessions were conducted daily to assess and enhance participants’ skills and knowledge.

The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, graced by the presence of the Dean, Medical Director, and Chairman Dept of Medicine & Allied Dr. Amjad Mahboob of MTI GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi.
