The second phase of a one-month certificate course in IPC for nursing staff begins.

Swabi: To address the spread of infectious diseases and standardize Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) practices in District Swabi, the second phase of a one-month certificate course for nurses commenced at Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC-MTI) today Monday, May 13, 2024.

Dr. Shagufta Hussain, Professor of Microbiology and WHO IPC consultant, leads this month-long course as the master trainer. Assisting her are Dr. Asim, Microbiologist from BKMC-MTI, Dr. Faisal, serving as the IPC facilitator, and Jaan Meraj, an IPC nurse.

In this course, which will continue from May 13, 2024 to Jun 8, 2024, a total of 22 nurses are participating, including 18 from BKMC, THQ Topi, THQ Chota Lahor, and 4 from DHQ Swabi.

This course aims to equip nurses with the knowledge, skills, and best practices necessary to effectively prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases within healthcare facilities.
