Swabi: Another facility has been started at Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC-MTI), Swabi. As part of the National T.B. Control Program, all necessary T.B. tests will now be performed within the hospital and medicines will also be available in the hospital.

In this context, National T.B. Control Program Officer Dr. Shaheen and Deputy District Health Officer (DDHO) of Swabi, Dr. Arif, handed over the necessary equipment to the hospital administration.

The focal person of the BKMC-MTI went on to say that, the hospital administration expressed gratitude to the officials from the National T.B Control Program and the DDHO for their dedicated efforts. The delegation emphasized that this initiative aims not only to provide facilities for T.B. treatment but also to contribute to the overall control of the disease.

The officials also installed all the equipment in the T.B. diagnostic center established in the New Accident & Emergency Department after handing over it to the Microbiology department of BKMC-MTI, Spokesperson Added.

Dr. Asim Ali Shah, a microbiologist at BKMC-MTI, said that this modern equipment will help in the accurate and early diagnosis of T.B. which will start providing treatment to patients early, while medicines will also be provided on-site. He said that earlier all T.B. tests were conducted in Peshawar or Islamabad, but with this new facility, such services will be accessible locally.
