Swabi: The first preliminary meeting regarding GKMC’s first-ever convocation was held on April 7, 2025, in the college conference room. The meeting was chaired by the Dean/CEO, Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rehman, and was attended by the Hospital Director, Medical Director, and the chairpersons of the various sub-committees formed for the convocation.

The Dean emphasized that this will be the first convocation since the inception of the medical college, and it should be made a remarkable and memorable event for all participants.

The chair discussed the roles and responsibilities of each committee, including: Organizing Committee, Reception Committee, Finance Committee, Medical Committee, Security Committee, Press/Media, Stage, Seating & Audiovisual Committee, Procession Committee, Food Committee, and Disciplinary Committee.

All committee chairmen shared brief updates on their assigned tasks and initial planning.

The meeting also included a detailed discussion on important aspects of the convocation, such as student and parent registration, registration forms, payment methods, budgeting, seating arrangements, media and press strategy, food setup, security protocols, invitations for dignitaries, seat tagging, and disciplinary measures.

The Dean directed all sub-committees to hold internal meetings to further plan and execute their respective responsibilities.

It is worth mentioning that the date of the convocation has not yet been finalized. Preparations will continue, and the final schedule will be adjusted accordingly once the date is officially confirmed.
