Swabi: To provide the best care for critically ill babies, a new 46-bed Neonatal Care Unit (NCU) has been established at BKMC-MTI, Swabi, with the cooperation of UNICEF.
The UNICEF Health Team Leader KP, Dr. Inamullah Khan, and Chairman BOG GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Major Gen (R) Salah-u-Din Qasam, along with the management of BKMC-MTI, paid a detailed visit to the newly established NCU.
The delegation toured various sections of the NCU and assessed the quality of work. The management and HoD Pediatrics/Neonatology briefed the delegation.
Both the Chairman and UNICEF Health Team Leader appreciated the management’s efforts in completing the project and maintaining high-quality standards. The delegation visited the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC), Transitional Care Unit (TCU), and waiting areas.
It is worth mentioning that the new NCU consists of 46 beds, significantly enhancing critical baby care. The unit is currently partially open, with neonatal care services started alongside the Gynecology & Obstetrics department.
