Mental Health Workshop Held at BKMC Auditorium Hall Theme: “Let’s Learn Together… Professionalism with Balance of Life”

A one-day Mental Health workshop was successfully conducted at the auditorium hall of BKMC-MTI, Swabi. The theme of the workshop, “Let’s Learn Together… Professionalism with Balance of Life”, focused on fostering mental well-being among healthcare professionals while promoting professional excellence.

The keynote speaker of the session was the esteemed Dr. Muhammad Azeem Rao, Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Public Health expert at the Institute of Psychiatry, Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH), Rawalpindi Medical University. Renowned for his vast experience in the field of mental health, Dr. Muhammad Rao delivered an insightful and engaging presentation that resonated deeply with the audience.

The workshop was organized by the Pakistan Psychiatric Society (PPS) under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Asif Kamal, HOD Psychiatry Department at GKMC/BKMC and Information Secretary of the PPS, whose efforts were key to bringing this important event to life.

Dr. Muhammad Azeem Rao provided an in-depth exploration of various mental health challenges prevalent in Pakistan, particularly among healthcare professionals who often face immense stress and burnout. He discussed the growing burden of anxiety, depression, and workplace-related stress, offering evidence-based insights and strategies to help individuals manage these issues more effectively.

Dr. Muhammad Azeem Rao emphasized the importance of achieving a balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being, and he highlighted the role of institutional support in promoting mental wellness.

He concluded his talk by stressing the importance of early intervention, regular mental health assessments, and cultivating a supportive workplace culture where mental health is prioritized.

The Hospital Director, Medical Director, Faculty Members, and Students actively participated in the session. They highly appreciated and commended the initiative for addressing such a critical topic in the healthcare sector.

At the end of the session, appreciation shields were presented to the guest speaker by the management.
