Swabi: A meeting was held in the office of the Medical Director at BKMC-MTI, Swabi, to discuss preparations for the opening of the new Operation Room (OR). The meeting was chaired by the Medical Director and attended by the Hospital Director, Nursing Director, Finance Director, Associate Medical Director, all Heads of Departments from the Surgical & Allied Units, Head of Anaesthesia, and Bio-Medical Engineer.

The primary objective of the meeting was to discuss the way forward for the functioning and opening of the new OR. All stakeholders emphasized the need for additional necessary staff before the OR could be opened.

The Nursing Director assured the availability of trained nurses for the new OR facility. All HoDs outlined challenges they would face in relocating their departments without a proper mechanism in place. The Medical Director assured that recruitment would be completed before any services were moved from the old OT.

The Hospital Director provided updates on the progress of equipment installation, carpentry work, and other necessary tasks in the new OR.

The meeting also discussed the phase-wise shifting of services and the logistics needed for a smooth transition. HoD Anaesthesia and HoD Gynae/Obs highlighted the importance of having a proper mechanism in place, along with the necessary logistical support and intercom facilities to ensure the smooth operation of the new OR.
