The Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mr. Shahab Ali Shah, chaired a high-level meeting to review the performance, funding, and healthcare services of Gajju Khan Medical College (GKMC) and Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC) MTI, Swabi.

The meeting, held at the Chief Secretary’s office on April 23, 2025, was attended by former speaker of the national assembly Mr. Asad Qaisar, Finance Secretary, Secretary Health, DG Health, and Chief Planning Officer. The primary focus of the meeting was on ongoing and proposed MTI projects in Swabi, aimed at enhancing service efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness.

Prof. Dr. Tufail Muhammad, Member BOG MTI, Swabi, Dr. Khalid Masud, HD BKMC-MTI, Swabi, and Prof. Dr. Amjad Mahboob briefed the Chief Secretary on urgent needs.

Key agenda items included the promotion of civil servants and faculty members, procurement and maintenance of hospital equipment, and the GKMC building project. Discussions also focused on the construction of a new clinical tower at BKMC-MTI, Swabi. Additionally, the development of DHQ Hospital Swabi and the Swabi Institute of Cardiology under the MTI framework was emphasized.

At the end, the Chief Secretary instructed all concerned departments to take immediate and coordinated action to resolve these issues without delay, ensuring timely progress on all key initiatives.
