Swabi: A team from the Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI), comprising Dean Prof. Dr. Mehmood Noor and Associate Dean Prof. Dr. Wazir Mohammad, visited Gajju Khan Medical College and Bacha Khan Medical Complex MTI, Swabi. The Dean/CEO Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rehman, Hospital Director Dr. Khalid Masud, and Medical Director Dr. Shahid Nisar Khalid, welcomed the team and briefed them about the college and hospital.

The purpose of the visit was to review the academic and research activities of the Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology, and ENT trainees. The team interacted with TMOs and inspected their work environment at GKMC/BKMC.

They observed the weekly CPC, interacted with trainees, and visited the ICU, Dialysis Unit, NICU, and Emergency Department to assess healthcare facilities. The team also visited various wards and interacted with TMOs regarding short cases, long cases, journal clubs, academic rounds, and research topics.

Sessions were held with faculty, supervisors, and trainees in each department. The team also visited the TMOs’ hostel, residential areas, tutorial rooms, and study rooms. The management provided a comprehensive briefing on the college and hospital activities related to trainees.

The team also visited the accommodation areas and the library, and they appreciated the positive environment of the college and hospital.
