𝐁𝐊𝐌𝐂-𝐌𝐓𝐈, 𝐒𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐢, in collaboration with the 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐑𝐁𝐂), 𝐀𝐛𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝, organized a Blood Donation Camp in the Auditorium Hall. The camp commenced with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the GKMC/BKMC Management and Mr. Aamir Badshah, Health Education Officer from RBC Abbottabad.
The Dean/CEO, Hospital Director, Associate Medical Director, faculty members, and other administrative officers participated in this noble cause and appreciated the efforts of the Social Welfare Society (SWS) for smoothly managing the blood camp. Blood donation continued from 9:00 AM to 01:00 PM.
Doctors, nurses, paramedics, administrative staff, faculty members, students, and other healthcare workers actively took part and donated blood. Students from affiliated nursing colleges, including Quaid-e-Azam Nursing College, Seena Nursing College, and NCN, also participated and donated blood.
The purpose of this camp was to ensure the availability of safe and free-of-cost blood and its components for patients admitted at BKMC. This was the first blood donation camp after the signing of MOU agreement between RBC Abbottabad and BKMC.
More than 40 blood bags were collected, and it is worth noting that one blood bag can benefit up to three patients for various medical needs.
After the successful completion of the camp, the management awarded appreciation certificates to the SWS team and acknowledged their dedicated efforts.
RBC Abbottabad also provided red cell units and 100 plasma bags, which were handed over to the BKMC Blood Bank. According to the plan, the next blood camp will be organized outside the hospital after three months. The main objective of this initiative is to provide safe and timely blood to patients in need.
