Swabi: A 4-day training session on “Oxygen Therapy Guidelines for Children” has commenced at the BKMC-MTI Skill Lab in Swabi. This program is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of healthcare providers in district Swabi. The session is being attended by more than 20 healthcare professionals from DHQ Swabi, THQs, and BKMC-MTI.
The training is led by Dr. Taaj, master trainer from UNICEF with extensive expertise. It is supported by the Directorate General Health Services in collaboration with UNICEF, as part of the “Scaling Pneumonia Response Innovation (SPRINT) Project.” The project aims to improve the Oxygen Therapy component of pneumonia case management for children under the age of 5 years.
Under this initiative, health staff will receive support to enhance the quality and implementation of Oxygen Therapy Guidelines for children. The goal is to train 200 staff members in District Swabi.
This training aims to improve the capabilities of healthcare providers working in Pediatrics and Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs). The program will continue from July 24 to July 27, 2024.
