SOGP Swabi Chapter Inauguration and Oath-taking Ceremony held at BKMC-MTI Swabi

Swabi: Newly nominated office-bearers of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists Pakistan (SOGP) Swabi Chapter administered the oath of their office in a ceremony held in BKMC-MTI here on Saturday. The Oath-taking Ceremony was Held at Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC-MTI), a medical teaching institution of Gajju Khan Medical College MTI Swabi.

The distinguished Chief Guest of the ceremony was Prof Dr. Azziz-Un-Nisa president of SOGP and renowned retired Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology from Ayub Medical College Abbottabad along with Dr. Saima Zubair, Chapter Coordinator of SOGP.

SOGP, being one of the largest organizations dedicated to Obstetrics and Gynecology, has been actively establishing chapters in various districts. The primary aim of SOGP is to enhance women’s healthcare across the country, with a special focus on reducing the Maternity Mortality Ratio (MMR) in Pakistan.

The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Dean/CEO GKMC Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rehman and Medical Director Prof. Dr. Shahid Nisar Khalid, who extended their heartfelt appreciation for the efforts undertaken by SOGP to advance women’s healthcare in Pakistan

In his address, Dean emphasized the crucial significance of women’s health in today’s modern world. He lauded societies like SOGP for their instrumental role in continuously improving women’s healthcare.

Gynecologists from the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Swabi, as well as health professionals, faculty members, and staff from THQ Topi and Chota Lahor affiliated hospitals of BKMC, attended the ceremony. Prof. Dr. Iqbal Begum, a member of the Board of Governors (BOG) BKMC-MTI, also graced the event and shared her views on women’s healthcare.

This landmark initiative is expected to have a profound impact on improving maternal and women’s healthcare in the region and the SOGP Swabi chapter will contribute significantly to achieving their mission of better women’s healthcare in Pakistan.
