BKMC-MTI Devises “one attendant per patient” Policy

Swabi: The management of Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC-MTI) Swabi has devised a new policy to reduce influx of attendants who accompany patients in Emergency department. The initiative will ultimately improve health care services. As per the new policy, only one attendant will be allowed with Non-Critical Patients and Two to Critically Ill Patients in Emergency. Spoke person of BKMC-MTI told the decision was taken in BKMC-MTI hospital executive committee meeting and decided to take steps to reduce overcrowding in the emergency which is directly influencing and burdening available resources. According to official, the new policy includes attendant meeting time also which is thrice a day, according to policy the attendant can meet their patients in the morning from 6:30 to 7:30, from noon 12:00 to 2:00 PM, and in the evening from 6:00 to 8:00 in winter season. Only in that particular timing the attendant can meet and serve food to their patients. Spoke person said that soon Food Policy will be formed and implemented Spoke Person of BKMC-MTI explained the new policy clearly states only one person will attend non-critical patients and it was decided that two attendants will be allowed with critically ill patients.   Dean & CEO GKMC-MTI Professor Dr. Shams-Ur-Rahman and Medical Director Dr. Shahid Nisar Khalid visited the OPD and reviewed health care services there. Both showed satisfaction on services and facilities providing in OPD. Dean and MD met some Doctors in OPD and directed them to provided best health care services.
