SWABI: To welcome the first-year MBBS students into the medical profession, Gajju Khan Medical College (GKMC-MTI) Swabi organized a White Coat and Oath-taking Ceremony for the seventh batch of GKMC-MTI on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, The Dean & CEO of Gajju Khan Medical College Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rahman welcomed all the students and briefly described the history of GKMC-MTI. He said that this is the new beginning of a new journey, a journey of passion, humanity, and responsibility. The Dean said in his speech that the first batch of GKMC-MTI secured a 100 percent result in the KMU exams, which is a remarkable achievement. He said that GKMC got accreditation 07 specialties for post-graduation (FCPS) training with more on the way.
The Dean & CEO emphasized to the students that MBBS is not the limit now, you have to prepare yourself for an international competition to serve humanity.
The Dean said that land has been acquired for college purpose-built building and work on the new and separate building has been started.
He said in his address that there would be no compromise on discipline in the college, and he urged new students to follow discipline and study wholeheartedly.
The Dean advised students to concentrate on the academic and clinical assignments given to them and give utmost importance to the patients who are a source of learning and training for them. He urged the new students to spend their energies in academics and research to help ailing humanity.
Hospital Director Dr. Amjad Mahboob, Medical Director Dr. Shahid Nisar Khalid, and Associate Dean Undergraduate students Dr. Mukhtiar Ali also grace the occasion and wish them all the best.
Hospital Director Dr. Amjad Mahboob briefly informed the students about the hospitals and health care services.
Medical Director Dr. Shahid Nisar Khalid said to the students in his speech that all of you are here to learn and serve the nation you are the cream of the nation here in the college you will have to follow the rules and study hard for your future.
Associate Dean under Graduate Dr. Mukhtiar Ali also welcomed the students and said that from now, you will have to face some hardships in making a career but following the respected faculty’s footsteps we wish all of you a bright future.
The spoke person GKMC-MTI stated that this is the second white coat ceremony after the inception of the Medical College. It should be noted that the Administration of GKMC-MTI enrolled 13 students so far from newly merge districts (NMDs) implementing the quota allocated for them.
The spokesman added total number of 50 seats MBBS are approved and all the seats are filled for the current year.
