Swabi: The 11th meeting of the Board of Governors,
GKMC/BKMC-MTI was held in the GKMC Conference Room.

The meeting chaired by Chairman BOGs / member KP Policy Board, Maj. Gen. ® Muhammad Salah uddin Qasim. Members Dr. Arshad Hussain, Dr. Tufail Mohammad Khan, Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Khan and Mr. Mian Unwan-Ud-din also attended the meeting. All the top management of GKMC/BKMC-MTI, Swabi and Additional Hospital Director, THQ Hospital-MTI, Topi and Lahor.

According to the spokesman, a detailed briefing regarding various projects/schemes including Pre-fab constructions, IT infrastructure, Hospital fair price pharmacy, Thalassemia Center, the establishment of nursing college, and purpose build building for Gajju Khan Medical College has been given to the board.

All the Directors and Managers present the yearly progress report related to their respective Departments. The Board of Governors appreciated the progress reports and steps taken toward the provision of standard healthcare facilities to the people of District Swabi in particular and surrounding districts in general, Media officer Added

The spokesman added that On the request of the Nursing Director, BKMC-MTI, Swabi, and Mr. Mehran Khan, the Board of Governors approved the name for Nursing College establishing under the umbrella of GKMC/BKMC as “NIGAR” College of Nursing-MTI Swabi. Ms. NIGAR JOHAR is the first and only woman in the history of the Pakistan Army to attain the Rank of Lieutenant-General and the third to reach the Rank of Major-General, belongs to District Swabi, Spokesman said. Initially, the college will be started in a rented building, spokesman added.

Dean/CEO, GKMC/BKMC-MTI Swabi, Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rahman informed the Board about acquiring land for the purpose build building for Gajju Khan Medical College-MTI. He added that total Land measuring to 134 Kanal (16.75 acres) acquired and is now under college administrative control.

The spokesman while giving details said that the Hospital Director, Associate Professor Dr. Amjad Mahboob briefed the forum regarding multiple steps for the provision of standard Healthcare Facilities and under construction schemes i.e. Pre-Fab construction of filter clinics in front of OPD. Expansion of OPD, Construction of purpose building for Material Management Deptt: and Pharmacy Warehouse, construction of Water Tank, construction of corridors for New OTs, etc. the Chairman BOGs appreciated the efforts of Hospital Administration and expressed satisfaction over the pace of work on running projects and advised its timely completion.

The Board of Governors shows serious concerns over the non-registration of employees in the Biometric Attendance Management System, the chair informed the management that “no compromise is acceptable on attendance”. The chair directed Dean, HD, MD, and ND, to ensure Biometric Registration of all the staff working in their respective departments. Strick action will be initiated under the rules for non-compliance (irrespective of their position) Chairman BoGs added.

Assistant Commissioner Lahor, participated to discuss the matters of Swabi Thalassemia Centre, at THQ Hospital-MTI, Lahor. The Hospital Director, BKMC-MTI, informed the forum that building construction is already completed, and the Bio-Medical Equipment required is in the final stages and will be provided soon. The chair advised to make necessary arrangements for the inauguration next month.

Dean / CEO, Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rahman and Medical Director Prof: Dr. Shahid Nisar Khalid, informed the Board that due to the recruitment of specialist doctors in various specialties the IBP is strengthening. The Board of Governors appreciated the efforts and advised the top Management to ensure consultant availability till IBPP timings.

The Dean / CEO, Hospital Director, Medical Director, Finance Director & Nursing Director presented their one-year progress report, future plans, and strategic planning related to their respective area of jurisdiction, to the Board of Governors.
