Strengthening Healthcare: A Session held on Hospital Resilience at BKMC-MTI

Swabi: A special session on Hospital Resilience was held today, 25/10/2023, in the BKMC-MTI Auditorium, attended by clinical faculty and managerial staff.

Hospital Director, Dr. Amjad Mahboob, extended warm welcome to the guest speaker, Dr. Mian Tahir Shah (WHO Consultant for KP), for the “Project Hospital Resilience” and expressed gratitude for his valuable time and commitment to the project.

Dr. Mian Tahir Shah elaborated on the key features of resilience and their purpose. Dr. Mian Tahir Shah provided an insightful discussion on the concept of resilience. He emphasized the significance of resilience in healthcare and its role in helping hospitals and healthcare systems navigate and recover from various challenges and crises.

Following the session, Dr. Mian Tahir Shah, along with the Hospital Director and In-charge Emergency, visited various departments, including OPD, Material and medicine Storeroom, New Emergency, and burn ICU. He appreciated the efforts being made by the hospital administration.

It is worth mentioning here that Hospital Resilience is a study-based project. Presently, only two Tertiary Care Hospitals BKMC-MTI and PIMS, were selected for the study in Pakistan, and the recommendations/outcomes of the study will be implemented across the country.

Later on, Dr. Mian Tahir Shah visited the Office of the Dean GKMC-MTI and briefly discussed the scope/parameters of the project.
