Plenary Session on “Imaging Life and Nuclear Medicine”

Swabi: A Plenary lecture session was held here at the BKMC-MTI Auditorium Hall today 15 March 2023. The Keynote speaker of the session was Dr. Aakifullah Khan Director IRNUM Cancer hospital. Dean/CEO Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rehman welcomed Dr. Aakifullah Khan and introduced him to the participants.

Dr. Aakifullah Khan discussed the topic in detail and spoke at length about the topic. In this fruitful session, Dr. Aakifullah Khan explained in detail how Nuclear Medicines are playing a vital role in diagnosing diseases ailing humanity. He further explained how early diagnosing of different diseases related to cancer, cardiology, nephrology, Thyroid, orthopedics, metabolic diseases, etc.. were made easy with the help of molecular imaging and making it possible to get their cures as early as possible. Moreover, he also applauded the research culture that has been reaching new heights among undergraduate students.

Dr. Aakifullah said that Nuclear Medicine serves a cross-cutting role in addressing epidemiologic priorities from infectious diseases such as tuberculosis to non-communicable diseases. The IMAGINE database describes the availability of relevant resources in a comprehensive manner.

All the Consultants, Medical Faculty, Hos, HoDs, Trainees, TMOs, Students, and other health professionals attended the session.

Later on, a questions and answers session was held about the topic, and the faculty participated in it. Dr. Aakifullah Khan answered the questions of the participant.

At the end of the session, a souvenir sword was gifted to the Chief Guest. The speaker also gifted his book to some of the participants.
