Mock Exercise is an important aspect of disaster management.

Swabi: In order, to deal efficiently during a fire/disaster, Rescue 1122 Swabi in collaboration with the security department of GKMC/BKMC-MTI yesterday conducted a training session and mock exercise at Bacha Khan Medical Complex Swabi on 2 Feb 2023, to create awareness among employees/staff of BKMC about fire safety measures and evacuation plans for patients during an emergency.

The participants were educated through practical demonstrations and mock drills on how to act when they meet various emergencies and provide first aid to patients and their fellow employees.

The rescue 1122 trainer talked about “how to tackle” Medical Emergency, Disaster Emergencies, and Fire Emergency and also spoke about how to use a fire Extinguisher in the initial stage of fire. Rescue 122 told the participant about Fire Types, Fire Classes, and Fire Stages. The trainer gave a detailed briefing to participants about “what to do and what not to do” during Fire/Gas leak.

At the end of the workshop, the management was given a practical firefighting demonstration which was well appreciated by the participants. This type of training will be continued in the affiliated hospitals including THQ Topi and THQ Chota Lahor in which Security In-charge BKMC and Rescue 1122 will train the hospital staff.
