Swabi: The BKMC-MTI Microbiology Department marked its one-year anniversary with a special event focused on expanding healthcare services for the community. The celebration included a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the department’s successful first year.
Hospital Director Dr. Amjad Mahboob, joined by Dean/CEO GKMC/BKMC-MTI Prof. Dr. Shams-Ur-Rehman, cut the cake and underscored the department’s establishment and its unwavering commitment to providing prompt healthcare services to the public. Dr. Amjad Mahboob commended the dedicated microbiology team and expressed optimism about the department’s future growth. He highlighted that the facility now offers top-notch diagnostics, eliminating the need to send samples to distant locations like Peshawar or Islamabad.
Microbiologist Dr. Asmi Ali Shah shared that the department conducted more than 5500 culture tests in the past year, contributing significantly to disease diagnosis.
Since its inception in August 2022, the microbiology department has consistently served the public, aiming to provide continuous support and healthcare services to the community.
The microbiology department is well-equipped to culture bacteria, fungi, and mycology, and diagnose various types of tuberculosis cases.
In addition to the Management, other administrative officers attended the event, acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of the microbiology team.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of ap preciation certificates to Microbiologist Dr. Nazish Babar, Dr. Asim Ali Shah, and Microbiology Technologist M. Numan for their dedicated efforts and contributions.
