One-Day Seminar on Quality Enhancement at MTI-GKMC Swabi, Date: 15th May 2023
Swabi: To enhance the quality of teaching and learning at MTI-GKMC Swabi, the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) of Gajju Khan Medical College (GKMC) Swabi planned a series of one-day seminars on Quality Enhancement for the faculty & students of the college. In this connection, the seminar was conducted on 15th May 2023, for the Final year MBBS students of the college. The Director QEC Dr. Mohammad Khalid and Assistant Manager Quality Assurance, Mr. Saeed Afsar were speakers of the seminars.
The Director QEC explained about Quality Assurance, its importance and need in medical education, the process of quality enhancement, and the function of QEC. He shared that the main purpose of quality enhancement is to increase the quality of medical training and enhance students learning. He added that besides self-assessment of the college, students’ feedback on the curriculum and teaching environment is also an essential tool to enhance and maintain the quality of medical education. To get feedback from students, the Director QEC then shared the survey forms with teachers and course evaluations.
He informed me that these surveys will regularly be conducted at the end of each module or block examination, for each year of the MBBS program. He encouraged all the students to participate in these surveys and provide their feedback, which will help identify areas for further improvement in medical education. Mr. Saeed Afsar informed the participants that these survey forms are available on the QEC website of the college and easily be accessed.
He then explained and demonstrated how to access and fill out these online survey forms. Mr. Saeed Afsar further added that to ensure fair and honest feedback, the student’s identity will be kept confidential.
At the end of their speech, the speakers responded to the questions and concerns raised by the participants.
At the end, the Director QEC reiterated the valuable feedback from students while students for their active participation in the seminar and urged them to spare some time for filling out these survey forms.
