New Microbiology Laboratory Inaugurated at BKMC-MTI, Swabi

Peshawar: State-of-the-art Microbiology laboratory set up in Bacha Khan Medical Complex (BKMC-MTI) Swabi to provide culture tests, culturing, examination, and identification of microorganisms including bacteria, fungus, Parasite, etc. The laboratory was inaugurated in BKMC-MTI which has a crucial role in effective infection prevention and control.

The hospital director Dr. Amjad Mahboob along with the Nursing Director Mehran Khan, in-charge Emergency and Microbiology Lab team, inaugurated the laboratory in the newly established accident and emergency (A&E), Burn unit at the hospital.

The new laboratory will serve the patient by offering them all the necessary microbiological investigations in the lab, said HD.
HD went on to say that before this Lab, culture test samples were first sent out of the district and it took a long time to arrive, now the facility is available here and everyone can get the culture test done here at a reasonable price, said HD

The hospital Director said that any tertiary care hospital is incomplete without a modern microbiology laboratory “It is the need of the time that every tertiary care hospital should have a microbiology lab which is necessary for infection prevention and research, said Dr. Amjad

Lab In-charge Dr. Asim gave a detailed briefing to the participants about the newly established Lab. He said that in near future T.B culture test would be possible here in this modern lab and medical students here can also benefit from it.
