MTI Swabi marked “World Patient Safety Day”
Swabi: World Patient Safety Day is marked each year on the 17th of September, it is important to highlight the safety measures that doctors and hospitals take to ensure the wellbeing of their patients.
This year’s theme is “Medication without harm.”
An awareness walk was organized by the department of Quality Assurance, MTI Swabi. The Management of GKMC/BKMC-MTI and students participated by chanting public service messages. The Management appreciated the services of health care workers in the Hospital and encouraged them to continue working in the best interest of the Patient.
The participants highlighted the international patient safety goals and the burden of medication-related harm due to medication errors and unsafe practices and emphasized the importance of Medication error reporting for patient safety.
This day emphasizes the need to adopt such approaches and promote safe and strengthening medication practices to prevent medication errors and reduce medication-related harm.
The vision of this day can only be achieved if all healthcare institutions regularly engage as critical stakeholders and partners to contain medication errors and reduce medication-related damage among patients and families by inculcating a sense of safe medication use.
It is also important making all due efforts in implementing the WHO Global Patient Safety Challenge: Medication Without Harm.
