On June 27, 2023, a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) visited the Chal Foundation at Bacha Khan Medical Complex-MTI Swabi. The primary objective of their visit was to extend their support by providing wheelchairs and assistive devices for individuals with different-abled individuals.

The delegation was led by Dr. Ana Lucia, the ICRC PRP team leader, accompanied by Dr. Gul Zaman and Miss Anum from the ICRC Technical Support Team.

Mr. Waseem Javed, Head of Operations at the Chal Foundation, and Dr. Hamid Ali, the representative of the Swabi Thalassemia Centre, also attended the meeting.

During the visit hospital director Dr. Amjad Mahboob, briefed the delegation about the Chal Foundation and BKMC-MTI and shared statistical data on trauma cases, including those resulting from Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs). The Hospital Director expressed sincere appreciation to the ICRC team for their continuous oversight and unwavering support to the Chal Foundation over the years.

Dr. Hamid Ali, the representative of the Swabi Thalassemia Centre, provided detailed information about the center and its various activities. Dr. Hamid emphasized the vital role played by the Swabi Thalassemia Centre in addressing the challenges faced by individuals affected by thalassemia in the region.

The ICRC delegation commended the efforts of both the Chal Foundation at BKMC-MTI and the Swabi Thalassemia Centre. They assured their support in providing wheelchairs and assistive devices.
